Is Customer Service Important?

Posted by admin on January 10, 2015

Forrest City, AR – Customer, what does that word mean? According to BusinessDictionary.com a Customer is a party that receives or consumes products (goods or services) and has the ability to choose between different products and suppliers. I think thats a spot on definition of a consumer. There is especially one portion I like about the definition it says, “and has the ability to choose between different products and suppliers."

Does the definition or function of a customer change from industry to industry? The answer is no. The customer or also known as the consumer are very vital to the existence and growth of a company. If there were no customers then there would be no manufacturers. If there’s no manufacturers then there’s no need for stores. That means no online stores or brick and mortar locations.

If the customer is so important, why doesn’t some companies act like they are? If the word vital and consumer go hand and hand, what’s the reasoning behind not treating them with respect and speaking with them with a grateful attitude? Is it because those companies are to big and now they don’t care what you think? Maybe, the heads of these companies have a heart for the customer but the employees don’t. Either way, the customer is very precious to a company and should be shown it in many ways.
